Enjoy seasonal ingredients in a combination of French and Nordic cuisines
Quite simply, we have chosen to focus on a single concept, and will therefore concentrate on a smaller menu selection. We use seasonal ingredients so that there is a feeling of variation during the year. We also undertake to offer the same high quality, regardless of whether you experience our menus as an à la carte guest or visit us as part of a conference or for a party.
Our style is a combination of French and Nordic cuisines, incorporating local ingredients as far as possible, while also featuring some specialities from France, primarily the Brittany region.
Our Head Chef, Kasper Larsen, trained at Skagen Fiskerestaurant and has worked in the Caribbean, Spain and Austria. Together with his team, he aims to create and develop a concept that gives Hornbæk a restaurant that is a destination in itself, whether our guests are with us for a day trip or a full stay with delicacies from arrival to departure. We strive to produce everything in-house, from the afternoon delicacies on our Cake Table to breakfast rolls and jam. Nothing is left to chance.
Visit our lobby bar, which has added a whole new dimension
One of the biggest changes we made to the hotel is the conversion of the entrance section. The original entrance faced the Øresund Sound, and the lobby was in our P. S. Krøyer boardroom meeting room. In the 1960s it moved to its existing location, and in 2017 we added a new dimension with a completely new entrance section, expanded to include an Orangery and a terrace where guests can enjoy a croissant and coffee in the morning sunshine.
Next to the lobby and the Orangery is the Pejsestuen, and all three rooms function simultaneously as the hotel's bar and lounge area, which can be used in conjunction with our exclusive Coffee and Cake Table for an aperitif before dinner, or after-dinner coffee and cocktails.
The proprietor, Kasper Heebøll Harboe, has developed an exciting bar/cocktail menu featuring internationally renowned cocktails and drinks , as well as a a few exciting, flavoursome drinks he has come up with himself. Make sure you try our bespoke Bretagne Champagne Cocktail.
The bar is open Thursday to Saturday from 18:00 to midnight, but may be closed on occasion for functions.
It's like being part of the Danish television programme "Badehotellet" in the real world. Great food, wine, service and atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again

Definitely a beautiful, pleasant place. Hotel Bretagne has been renovated perfectly in the style of a seaside hotel, with beautiful wallpaper and tall panels in the corridors. We were there for a wedding, and it was the perfect setting for a celebration of love. The food and wine were really good, and I would heartily recommend the location for any occasion. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

I have visited a few beautiful hotels both in Denmark and abroad. There's no doubt that Hotel Bretagne is in a class of its own! An extraordinarily high standard of gastronomy, an authentic seaside hotel feel, and service in a class of its own. The fantastic location simply completes the picture of an extremely beautiful hotel. Strongly recommended for romantic weekends, conferences with a difference and atmospheric smaller weddings.

We have just stayed at Hotel Bretagne in Hornbæk. Recently renovated in the most beautiful, cosy style – a true seaside hotel environment. Lovely, good-sized rooms, comfortable beds and a beautiful view of Lake Hornbæk. All staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was unusually good and came with delicious matching wines. Heartily recommended – we will be back. :-)
Hotel Bretagne is a new jewel. With its good menu and beautiful rooms combined with the personal service and atmosphere – all that remains is to be happy and say, "Until next time". You will enjoy the place and the atmosphere of the place. It is also suitable for smaller meetings.

As soon as you step through the doors of Hotel Bretagne, you sense a genuine interest in giving guests a fantastic experience. The menu was fantastic, and the recommended wines went perfectly with each dish. I could write a whole new chapter on the breakfast. Beautifully laid out in an appetising manner, and unbelievably tasty. I couldn't point a finger at the food, the service or the hotel decor – all were executed with a feel for quality and detail

We had no expectations or knowledge of Hotel Bretagne in general, so were greatly surprised when we stepped into a beautifully decorated hotel with a lovely smell of paintwork and new wood. Staff were friendly and service-minded and the food and wine were top quality. Hotel Bretagne is balm for the soul, and a place we intend to return to.

Really lovely, newly renovated hotel in the best "seaside hotel" style. Good service, truly delicious four-course menu, very well-chosen wine list. Fantastic view of the lake and Hornbæk. Certainly not the last time we will visit "Bretagne". Great value for money. Heartily recommended.
— Henrik Røn
Their wine list is wonderful from start to finish ... staff were nice, very friendly and helpful ... overall everything was extremely stylish ... I recommend a tour around the lake ... not the last time we will visit this place

We went for dinner in this newly renovated and newly opened hotel at the end of March with my husband's work. It was wonderful to see how beautifully the new owner has restored this historic Hornbæk hotel. The food and wine were fantastic, and the couple who run it extremely nice and service-minded. Definitely worth a recommendation, and we are already planning our next visit. :)

Lovely, beautiful place that has just been refurbished. A fantastic, beautiful setting. The three-course meal with matched wine list was FANTASTIC. Heartily recommended, and the location is good in regard to the town of Hornbæk.
— Marco Larsen
The food is top class, the wine list is both high quality and comes in appropriate amounts, and the location with a view of the lake is good for the soul. The quilts were a little warm for this time of year, but otherwise both the room and the rest of the hotel was very tastefully decorated and pleasant. The staff focus on making sure guests have a good experience, so they were attentive to us while we were there.
Fantastic place and food and surroundings. Great service, nice place. Lovely food. Good food. Lively, competent service. Lovely rooms. The surrounding nature is beautiful. Definitely a place worth visiting. To be recommended. Experience this place in spring, summer and autumn.
